Tea Buyer
BKHL - The Parlour.
Izzy Birdie Barrera has been with Brooklyn High Low since its founding in 2019, when the original tea room opened its doors in Prospect Heights. From the very beginning, Birdie played a key role in shaping our tea menu—researching local tea blenders and helping to create the wide-ranging and diverse selection our guests enjoy today.
Though not a tea blender herself, Birdie has a deep appreciation for the art and culture of tea. She sees afternoon tea not only as a culinary offering, but as a beautiful and meaningful ritual—an elegant pause in the day that invites connection, reflection, and a touch of joy.
As our Tea Buyer for The Parlour, Birdie continues to guide our evolving selections with care and curiosity. She looks forward to meeting new guests, forming new friendships, and continuing to learn from the rich and fascinating world of tea. Her presence at Brooklyn High Low is a reminder that tea is not just something we sip—it’s something we share.
